Every three years, the Government of Québec evaluates the performance of Univalor in order to renew its funding. At the end of the assessment completed in late 2012, the government concluded that Univalor “offers real added value in supporting Québec’s innovation environment,” that it “fills a gap in the Québec technological innovation chain” and that its results indicate “a performance in line with expected outcomes.” In fact, overall, Univalor exceeded the targets and expected outcomes—sometimes dramatically. The government’s assessment focused on data collected in the three-year period between 2009 and 2012.
World Intellectual Property Day which will be held April 26, was created in 2000 by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) and its Member States. This annual celebration will highlight the link between IP and creativity and will promote innovation and economic growth.
The activities aim to explain how the protection of intellectual property (IP) supports the promotion of creativity and innovation as well as encouraging respect for IP rights of others.
